These cliffs sit on the eastern coast of Møn. This island is located in the Baltic Sea. The cliffs are made of white chalk. They stretch for about 6 kilometers along the coast. Some parts of the cliffs drop 120 meters down to the sea. The highest point reaches 128 meters above the water. This special place is now a World Heritage Site.

The chalk was made a very long time ago. It comes from the shells of tiny creatures called coccolithophores. These living things lived on the seabed 70 million years ago. Later, huge glaciers moved across the land. The heavy ice pushed the ground upward. This created hills and folds in the earth. When the ice melted 11,000 years ago, the cliffs appeared. Today, the sea still erodes the chalk. This can create new fossils of old shellfish.

Many people enjoy visiting this nature reserve every year. About 250,000 visitors come to see the cliffs. You can walk, ride a bike, or ride a horse on marked paths. Some paths lead to stairs that go down to the beach.

In 2007, Queen Margrethe opened the GeoCenter Møns Klint. This museum is located near the top of the cliffs. It was designed by a group called PLH Architects. The museum helps people learn about the fossils and the geology.

The land here is full of rare life. The chalky soil helps many special plants grow. You might see tall lady orchids near the beach stairs. The beech trees look light green because of the chalk.

You can also find the rare large blue butterfly here. Some birds use the cliffs to raise their young. The peregrine falcon is one such bird. It is the fastest bird and can fly at 350 km/h. This area is an Important Bird Area.
