It uses 106 tiles. Most tiles have numbers from 1 to 13. They come in four colors: blue, red, orange, and black. There are also two joker tiles. Players keep their tiles on a rack. This keeps the tiles a secret from others.

You make sets of three or more tiles. A run is a set of same-colored tiles in order. A group is a set of same-value tiles in different colors. A fun part is moving tiles on the table. You can split a run or change a group. This helps you use your own tiles.

The first person to use all their tiles wins. They shout "Rummikub" to show they won!

Ephraim Hertzano invented the game. He was born in Romania. He moved to Israel after World War II. He made the first sets by hand in his backyard. He sold them to small shops. Later, the game became a big hit in the United States. It won several awards, like the German Game of the Year in 1980.
