Their music brings people together through loud and powerful sounds.

To make their sound, the band used a simple style. They did not use many complex musical parts. Instead, they turned up their amplifiers to create distortion. This made the music sound very strong and unstoppable. Guitarists played barre chords to keep the rhythm steady. Drummers played basic beats to support the songs. Noel Gallagher wrote the songs and led the group.

The band started in 1991. At first, the group was called the Rain. Liam Gallagher joined and suggested the name Oasis. He saw the name on a poster for a leisure centre.

Oasis had many big moments in the 1990s. Their second album, (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, was a massive success. It stayed at number one in the UK for ten weeks.

Life in the band was not always easy. Members like Tony McCarroll and Paul McGuigan left at different times. The group stopped working together in 2009 when Noel left.
