Collectors love to find them.

Most leaf beetles eat plants. The adults eat leaves and flowers. The babies, or larvae, eat many different things. Some larvae live in soil to eat roots.

Others eat seeds or live in leaf litter. Some even live in ant nests! To eat plants, they use enzymes. Enzymes are special tools that help them digest food. The beetles get these tools from bacteria or from their own bodies.
