One special way she painted was by making bamboo look part of a landscape. Instead of just painting a single branch, she painted thickets of bamboo. She showed them growing together in the mist and the rain. This made her paintings feel like a real part of nature. She also wrote poems to go along with her beautiful pictures.

Guan was born into a wealthy family in Huzhou. Her father gave her a special name that means "Way of Righteousness Rising as the Sun." When she was 24 years old, she married a famous artist named Zhao Mengfu. Because of her husband's job at the royal court, they traveled a lot. They went between the capital at Dadu and the city of Huangzhou. This allowed Guan to see many places and meet other great artists. These trips helped her become a well-known figure in the art world.

Many facts tell us how much people valued her work. The Yuan Emperor Ayurbarwada even collected her writing in a special scroll. He was surprised that a husband, wife, and son could all be great at calligraphy.
