Cosmopolitanism is a big idea. It says all people belong to one group. This group is the whole world. People who believe this are called cosmopolitans. They want to be world citizens. They believe we should respect everyone. This includes people with different beliefs or cultures.

This idea is very old. A man named Diogenes lived in Ancient Greece. When people asked where he was from, he said he was a citizen of the world. Later, a group called the Stoics had similar ideas. They thought people live in two groups. One is their local home. The other is the whole human family.

In China, a thinker named Mozi spoke of this too. He said we should show love to everyone. He thought we should treat other lands like our own.
