It is called the Veiled Christ. An artist named Giuseppe Sanmartino made it. He finished the work in 1753. The statue is in Naples, Italy. It shows Jesus lying on a couch. A thin veil covers his body. This veil is carved from stone. It looks like real, soft cloth. This is a very special skill. You can see his face through the veil. Sanmartino showed the pain Jesus felt. He also carved tools at his feet. These include pliers and a crown of thorns.

A prince named Raimondo di Sangro paid for it. He was a man of science. Some people thought the veil was magic. They thought the prince used alchemy. Alchemy is a way to change things. They thought he turned real cloth into stone. But the statue is just one block of marble. Old letters prove it was carved by hand. One note shows the prince paid for the stone veil. This work is a masterpiece of art.
