A two-stroke engine is a type of motor.

It works in a special way. Most motors need four moves to work. This motor only needs two. One move is the piston going up. The second move is the piston going down.

These two moves happen in one turn of the engine. This makes the engine very powerful for its size. It also makes the engine light. Because they are light, people use them for many things. You can find them in leaf blowers and chainsaws. They are also used in small motorcycles and dirtbikes.

Some engines use a reed valve. This is a small part that helps fuel enter the motor. Other engines use a rotary valve. This is a spinning part that opens and closes the fuel path. These engines can work in any position. This is because the oil is mixed with the fuel. This helps the motor work even if it is tilted.

However, these engines can make more pollution than other motors. Because of this, many places use different kinds of engines now.
