His use of color was very special and unique. This helped change how many artists painted for a long time. People called him the sun among the stars of painters. He was the most important artist in the Venetian school.

Titian learned his craft by studying under several great masters.

Some say he was sent to Venice when he was nine. He may have apprenticed with Sebastiano Zuccato or Gentile Bellini. He also studied with the famous painter Giovanni Bellini. He even worked with an artist named Giorgione. These artists were often rivals who competed to be the best. This training helped him develop his own amazing way of painting.

His life began in a place called Pieve di Cadore.

His family, the Vecellios, was well known in that area. His father, Gregorio, worked with timber and mines. Titian's birth date is not exactly known by historians. He once claimed he was born in 1474. However, most modern scholars think he was born between 1488 and 1490. He lived a very long and successful life.

This means his strokes were thick and showed his movement. Even when his style changed, he always focused on color. He remained the undisputed master of Venetian painting for sixty years. His influence can still be seen in many Western art pieces today.
