Technology and society change each other. This has been true for a very long time.

Long ago, humans used stone tools. Later, they learned to control fire. Cooking food helped humans grow and change. People also made wheels to travel. These tools helped people build new ways to trade goods. This helped economies grow.

Today, technology is part of almost everything. Computers and the internet help us talk to people far away. Many schools use the internet to help kids learn. In the early 1990s, only a tiny bit of schools used it. By 2008, nearly all schools used it.

But technology can cause problems too. Making things can cause pollution. This can hurt our Earth. Using social media can sometimes make people feel sad or jealous. Some people worry that too much technology harms our world. Others think new tools will always make life better. To make new tools, people use money from governments or big companies. Some people even use the internet to ask many people for small amounts of money to start a project.
