Long ago, people used tools to survive. This time is called prehistory. It is the time before humans wrote things down.

Early humans used stone tools. They used them to hunt and cook. One early group was called Homo habilis. They made simple stone tools. Later, Homo erectus learned to use fire. This helped them live in new places.

As time went on, tools changed. Humans made smaller stone tools called microliths. These were used for arrows and spears. People also made tools from bone and antler. They even made sewing needles to make clothes.

Later, a big change happened. This is called the Neolithic Revolution. It was a way of life that used farming. Instead of moving around, people stayed in one place. They grew crops and kept animals. This helped them build homes and new ways of living. They also made art and music.
