He lived a long time ago. He was likely born around AD 69. Some people think he was born in a town called Hippo Regius. This place is in modern-day Algeria.

Suetonius was a very studious man. His friend Pliny the Younger called him quiet. Suetonius worked for powerful Roman leaders. He worked for the Emperor Trajan. He also worked for the Emperor Hadrian. He was a secretary for the empire.

His most famous book is called "The Twelve Caesars." This book tells the lives of twelve Roman rulers. It starts with Julius Caesar. It ends with a leader named Domitian. Suetonius used a special way to write these stories. He wrote about how the leaders looked. He wrote about their families and their words. He even wrote about signs from the gods.

Suetonius wrote many other books too. Some books were about famous poets. Other books were about Greek games. Many of his books are lost now. But his work helps us learn about Rome.
