Plutarch also served as a priest. He worked at the Temple of Apollo in Delphi. He helped fix the shrines at that sacred place.

Plutarch wrote many important books. His most famous work is called the Parallel Lives. In these books, he wrote about famous Greeks and Romans. He did not just write about history. He wanted to show how a person's character affects their life. He often paired a Greek leader with a Roman leader. This helped readers see how they were similar.

He also wrote a collection of essays called the Moralia. These essays cover many topics. Some are about big ideas. Others are funny stories. One essay talks about the moon. Another looks at how siblings show love. Plutarch had a wife and several children. He was a very busy man in his town and his faith.
