Song Ci wanted to make sure justice was fair. He wrote a book to help other judges. It is called "Collected Cases of Injustice Rectified." This book was a guide for investigators. It taught them how to study a crime scene. It also taught them how to look at a body.

He was the first person to use forensic entomology. This is the study of bugs to solve crimes. One story in his book is very famous. It happened in the year 1235. A man was killed with a sickle. A sickle is a tool used to cut rice.

Song Ci gathered people in a town square. He asked them to put down their sickles. Most tools looked clean. But flies were attracted to one tool. They flew to it because of tiny traces of blood. This helped find the person who did it. His book was later read in many languages. It helped many people learn how to find the truth.
