Resources come in many different forms. Some come from nature. These are called natural resources.

Natural resources can be living or non-living. Land, water, and air are non-living. These are abiotic resources. Forests and fish are living. We call these biotic resources.

Some resources are renewable. This means they can grow back quickly. Forests and fish are examples. Other resources are non-renewable. These take a very long time to form. Once they are gone, they are gone. Oil and coal are non-renewable. Sunlight and wind are different. They are called perpetual resources. They are always available.

Humans also provide resources. Human resources are the skills and work of people.
