This makes it a huge part of the drink industry today.

How does the drink work? It contains several ingredients that make it different from regular soda. One main ingredient is caffeine, which is a stimulant. A 250 ml can usually has 40 to 80 mg of caffeine. It also contains taurine and various B vitamins like B2, B3, B5, B6, and B12. The drink uses sugars like sucrose and glucose for energy. Some versions use artificial sweeteners instead of sugar. It also has a bubbly feel from carbonated water. These ingredients work together to create the energy drink.

The story of Red Bull began in Thailand. A man named Chaleo Yoovidhya created a drink called Krating Daeng in 1976. This drink was popular with truck drivers and laborers. An Austrian man named Dietrich Mateschitz discovered it in 1982. He found that the drink helped cure his jet lag. In 1984, Mateschitz and Yoovidhya became partners. They each put US$500,000 of their savings into the new company. They launched the official Red Bull brand in Austria on 1 April 1987.

In 2012, they added Red Bull Total Zero, which has zero calories. They also made small, strong cans called Energy Shots in 2009.

There is even a line called Red Bull Editions with many fruit flavors. You can find flavors like watermelon, peach, and lime. Some of these flavors are only sold in certain places or during certain seasons.

You might recognize Red Bull from extreme sports events. Instead of normal ads, the company builds its name through these exciting events. This helps create a special image for the brand. Red Bull is now sold in 171 countries worldwide.

It is available in all 27 member states of the European Union. While it is a very popular drink, some people have had legal arguments about it. For example, a court case in 2014 resulted in a US$13 million settlement. This was because some people felt the drink's benefits were not proven by science.
