Prince Charming is a famous type of hero in fairy tales.

These heroes often go on a quest to save a girl. They might break an evil spell to help her. Many old stories use this kind of hero. You can find them in tales like Snow White or Cinderella. Even if they have no name, people call them Prince Charming.

The name may come from an old book by Charles Perrault. He wrote a version of Sleeping Beauty in 1697. In his story, the prince is charmed by the princess. Some writers also used the name Charming in other tales. For example, Madame d'Aulnoy wrote about a Charming King.

Today, many new stories change how we see this hero. Some stories make him look silly or vain. Others show him as a person who is not very kind.
