Panentheism is a big idea about God and the world. The word comes from Greek. It means "all in God."

This belief says that a divine being is in every part of the universe. But that being is also bigger than space and time.

Some people believe in pantheism. Pantheism says the world and God are the same thing. Panentheism is different. It says God is greater than the universe. Some thinkers say the world is inside God. Others say the world is just one way God shows itself.

A man named Karl Krause gave this idea its name in 1828. He looked at Hindu writings to help find the right word. Many people in Hindu traditions hold these views.

Other faiths use these ideas too. Some Buddhists think of a highest reality that is in everything. In some Christian groups, thinkers say this view is very old. They believe it helps explain how God and the world connect. It is a way to wonder about the great mystery of all things.
