Many people in Buddhism practice nontheism. The Buddha said that gods do exist. However, he did not see them as the most important. He taught that gods are still caught in the cycle of life. Some Buddhists see the Buddha as a teacher to the gods.

In Hinduism, many different ideas exist. Some followers believe in one god or many gods. Others follow nontheistic paths. They may look for an impersonal truth called Brahman. This truth is not a person. Some Hindu schools do not believe in a creator god at all.
