The island has many interesting landforms to see. Its highest point is Mount Malindig. This is a tall volcano at the southern tip of the island. The name Marinduque might come from words meaning "stand tall" or "elegant." This likely describes the big volcano. There are also many deep cave systems on the island. The Tarug Caves are made of limestone and rise 270 feet up. Bagumbungan Cave even has a river flowing underground.
