Some tips are flat, round, or angled. Some are even shaped like a cat's tongue. The right shape helps the makeup blend well on the skin.

There are two main types of bristles. Synthetic bristles are made of plastic or nylon. They are very common and last a long time. These work best with liquid or cream products. They do not soak up much product.

Natural bristles come from animal hair. Some types come from animals like goats or squirrels. These bristles are porous, which means they have tiny holes. This helps them pick up and spread powder very evenly. However, they can be harder to wash.

Different brushes do different jobs. A large fan brush can dust off extra powder. A small pencil brush helps with tiny details. A Kabuki brush has dense bristles for full coverage. Using the right tool makes the colors look smooth and beautiful.
