Airbrush makeup is a special way to apply makeup. Instead of using brushes or fingers, an artist uses a spray tool.

A machine called a compressor makes air flow through a hose. This hose connects to a spray gun. The artist holds the gun and pulls a trigger. This lets out a fine mist of tiny droplets. These millions of little dots form a thin net on the skin. This makes the makeup look very smooth and natural. It can even look like real skin.

This method is great for high-definition video. Traditional makeup can sometimes show in skin pores. Airbrush makeup stays very even. It can stay on for 12 to 24 hours! Some kinds use silicone to stay on even in water. This is helpful for movies or photos.

Artists use it for many things. They use it for weddings and theater. They can also make fake tattoos with it. Artists can use stencils to make shapes. They can also work by hand to make art. This way is very clean because the artist does not touch the skin.
