Scientists found a far away world called Kepler-452b.

It is an exoplanet, which means it orbits a star other than our Sun. This planet is a super-Earth. That means it is much bigger than our home. It has a mass at least three times that of Earth. Some studies say it might be five times as heavy.

Kepler-452b orbits a star that is like our Sun. The star is a G-type star. This means it is very similar to our own Sun. The planet sits in the habitable zone. This is the area around a star where it is not too hot or too cold. It could allow liquid water to exist.

One year on this planet lasts 385 days. This is very close to an Earth year. The planet gets 10% more energy from its star than Earth does. It might have thick, misty clouds. It could also have many active volcanoes. Scientists use the Kepler space telescope to study it. They look for planets when they pass in front of a star. This makes the star look a bit dimmer.

We are still learning if it is a rocky world.
