It orbits a star in the Cygnus constellation. This star is like our Sun. It is a bit smaller and dimmer. You cannot see it with your eyes.

Kepler-22b is in the habitable zone. This is a special area around a star. In this zone, liquid water could exist on a planet. This makes the world very special. It is much bigger than Earth. Its radius is about twice as large as ours.

We do not know its mass. Mass is how much matter is in an object. We also do not know what its surface is made of. It might not be like Earth. It could be an ocean planet. It might have a shell made of gas or liquid. This would make it a water world.

If it has an atmosphere, the temperature might be moderate. This means it would not be too hot or too cold. Some scientists think life could live in its oceans. They are still studying this world to learn more.
