He helped a leader named Liu Bang start the Han dynasty. People call him the "Xian of War" because he was so smart at battle. He was known for using clever tricks to win. His ideas were so good they became part of famous books on war. He never lost a single fight that he led. This made him one of the most important generals in history.

Before he was a great leader, Han Xin had a very hard life.

He was born in a place called Huaiyin. He was very poor and often did not have enough food to eat. An old woman once gave him food for twelve days. He promised to repay her for her kindness. Once, a young man mocked him in front of a crowd. The man told Han Xin to crawl between his legs to show he was a coward. Han Xin chose to do it so he could live to do great things later.

Han Xin eventually joined the army of Liu Bang. At first, he did not have a high job. He was even almost punished for breaking a military rule. A general named Xiahou Ying saw his talent and helped him. Later, a man named Xiao He helped him even more.

Xiao He even chased Han Xin under the moonlight to bring him back to the army. Because of Xiao He, Liu Bang made Han Xin the Commander-in-Chief. This was a very high rank in the army.

Han Xin used many smart plans to win wars. One famous plan was called "appearing to repair the gallery roads."

He made his soldiers look busy fixing roads in one place. While they did this, he sent a secret army through a hidden path called Chencang. This surprise attack helped him win against the leader Xiang Yu. He also helped Liu Bang fight against the King of Wei. His ability to use deception helped the Han dynasty grow very strong.

Even though he was a hero, his story ended sadly.

Liu Bang began to fear how much power Han Xin had. In late 202 BCE, Han Xin was moved to a lower rank. In early 196 BCE, he was accused of being part of a rebellion. He was killed in the Changle Palace on orders from Empress Lü. Today, people still remember him as a national hero. A stone monument in Huaiyin honors his lasting fame.
