This article covers sensitive topics: religion. Parents can manage visibility in Parental Controls.

In Islam, a person who knows the Quran by heart is a hafiz. A woman who does this is called a hafiza. The Quran is a holy book. It has 114 chapters called surahs. It also has 6,236 verses.

There are about 77,797 words in the book.

Learning the whole book is a big task. This task is called hifz. People believe God will honor those who learn it. They must also live by what the book says. A hafiz must practice all the time. This helps them not to forget any part.

Many people show great respect to a hafiz. In Pakistan, many children become a hafiz. One group says one million children have done this. Every year, over 78,000 students finish their work there. In Iran, there are special tests for this. People who pass these tests can earn degrees. These degrees are like a diploma or a master's degree.
