The Quran is the most important book. Muslims believe God gave it to Muhammad. An angel named Jibril helped share it. This took about 23 years. The Quran has many chapters called surahs. It also has verses called ayahs.

Muslims also believe in older books. One is the Tawrat, or Torah. It was given to the people of Israel. Another is the Zabur, or Psalms. King David received these holy songs.

The Quran also mentions the Injil. This is the Gospel given to Jesus. There are also scrolls for Abraham and Moses. These are called books of earlier revelation. Believing in these older books is part of the faith. Some people use the Bible to help them understand the Quran. This is a way to study both books together.
