There are many ways to cook goat meat to make it taste great. You can stew it, curry it, or bake it in the oven. Some people grill it or make it into a tasty sausage. In Mexico, a dish called Birria is a spicy stew. Another dish called cabrito entomatado is boiled in a sauce made of tomatoes and spices. In Japan, people in Okinawa serve it raw in thin slices called yagisashi. In Nepal, people use every part of the animal to make food. They make soup from the feet and jerky called sukuti.

Goat meat has been part of human traditions for a very long time. In Kenya, many families choose to eat goat instead of cow or chicken. Australia is a very important place for goat meat. The first goats arrived there in 1788 on the First Fleet. Today, Australia sends a lot of its meat to other countries. In 2023, over 2 million goats were slaughtered in Australia. By 2024, that number grew to 3.5 million goats. Most of these goats are feral goats that live in the wild. These wild goats live on large pieces of land called rangelands.

Goat meat is a type of red meat that is very healthy in some ways. It has a lot of protein, iron, and zinc. It is also leaner than beef or lamb. This means it has less fat and less cholesterol. Because it is so lean, it needs low heat and slow cooking. This helps the meat stay soft and moist while it cooks. Some people like it because they think it is better for the planet. They believe eating wild-caught goat is a sustainable choice for the earth.
