Sanz used two main ways to play the guitar. One style is called punteado, which means plucking the strings. The other style is called rasqueado, which means strumming the strings. He wrote his music using a system called tablature. This is a way of writing music that shows where to put your fingers. His tablature was very organized and correct. He even used an "Italian alphabet" to write music. This was a shorthand system that used letters to represent chords.
