A singer and guitarist named Peter Green started the group. He named the band by mixing two surnames together. He used the names of drummer Mick Fleetwood and bassist John McVie. Mick Fleetwood is the only member who stayed for the whole history. John McVie joined the group shortly after it was formed. These early years helped build the foundation for everything that came next.
