Pilots fly small aircraft called drones. Most drones use four motors. These are called quadcopters.

Racing drones are built for speed. They use an H-pattern for their motors. This helps them fly forward very fast. They also use three or four blades on their propellers. This helps them turn quickly.

Pilots see what the drone sees. They wear goggles called FPV goggles. FPV means first-person view.

A camera on the drone sends a live video feed. This feed goes to the goggles. The pilot must have a steady hand. They must also react very fast.

Drivers race through obstacle courses. These courses use gates or tunnels. Some tracks are built in big cities. Others are outdoors in nature. Groups like MultiGP hold many races. The Drone Racing League is also very big. They make their own drones for pilots to use. Some races even have large prize funds. One big race in Dubai had a million dollars in prizes!
