A person leads a dog through a course. The dog must be fast and very accurate. They run without food or toys to help them. Instead, they use voice commands and body signals.

This needs a lot of training for both the dog and the person.

A course has many different obstacles. Some are contact obstacles like the A-frame. This is two ramps that meet in the middle.

There is also a seesaw, which some call a teeter-totter. Dogs might run through tunnels or jump over hurdles. Some dogs even weave through tall poles.

Before the race, handlers walk the course. They plan the best path for their dog. This is very important because the course can be tricky. Each team gets one chance to finish the course. They earn points for speed and for being correct. If a dog hits a jump, they get a penalty. This sport started in the United Kingdom in the 1970s. Now, people all over the world enjoy it together.
