Obstacle course

sports Maturity 5-7 Next article →

An obstacle course is a set of hard tasks.

People or animals must move through them. Most courses use a timer to see how fast you are. You might run, jump, or climb. You may also swim or crawl. These tests check your speed and strength. Some courses even use mental tests.

Soldiers use these courses for training. They learn how to move in combat. They also learn to work as a team. Some military courses have mud or ropes. They might have walls for climbing. At a college in Canada, senior students build the course. They use walls and even truck pulling. This tests how well the new students work together.

Some courses are filled with air. We call these inflatable courses. You can wade through tall parts. You can also jump through holes.

Many people love these tests. You can see them on TV shows. You can even play them in video games. Some parks now have courses for fun.

It is a way to show skill and grit.
