This meeting lasted from 1545 to 1563. The Church used it to set new rules. They wanted to stop corruption. They also wanted to train priests better. They made new schools, called seminaries, just for this.

The Church also made new books to defend its beliefs.

New groups of people joined the Church too. The Jesuits were one famous group. These groups helped spread the faith to new lands. This time also brought new art and music. Some people even moved to new places because of wars. The Counter-Reformation helped shape the Church for a long time.
