They lived in London for many years. This was during the time from 1916 to 1930. They formed a special group of artists and writers. This group was often called a clique. People in London noticed them quite a lot. Some people thought they were very important artists. Other people thought they just wanted attention. They were a very well-known family in the art world.

These books collected poems from many different people. Some saw them as a way to balance other poetry books. Others thought they were light collections of social verse. The books included writers like Nancy Cunard and Aldous Huxley. They also featured people like Iris Tree and Sherard Vines. Each book added more names to the list.

There are many interesting facts about the Sitwells. They came from Scarborough in North Yorkshire. Their family seat was a place called Renishaw Hall.

One of their homes was named Wood End. The family also owned Weston Hall in Northamptonshire. They sold that hall in 2021. Their family coat of arms has three black lions on it. Their motto was Ne cede malis, which means yield not to misfortune.

Today, we can still see the Sitwells' legacy. Wood End in Scarborough is now a creative center. It provides workspaces for artists to use.
