These bridges helped people travel through the high Himalayas. Some accounts say he built 58 bridges, while others say he made 108. He even started a troupe of seven sisters to dance and raise money for these projects. One famous bridge was built over the Yarlung Tsanpo river. It used thick chains and wooden boards to let people cross safely.

He had three important visions from a teacher named Niguma. These visions helped him receive special teachings called the Six Yogas of Niguma. He used these to found the Iron Chain lineage of the Shangpa Kagyu school. He also taught many students, including Chökyi Drönma. He is even considered a reincarnation of the teacher Dolpopa Sherab Gyaltsen.

Today, his influence can still be seen in many ways. He is known as the father of Lhamo, which is Tibetan opera. People often worship him as a god of drama. In many plays, an altar is set up to honor him. He also built many large stupas and temples. Some of these, like the Tamchog Lhakhang, are still looked after by his descendants. His prayers and teachings are still used by people in many different places.
