This book is a guide for the soul. It uses a style called sutra. A sutra is like a short thread. These threads hold many ideas together. The book has ten chapters and 350 sutras. It explains many things about life. It talks about the soul and the world. It also explains karma. In this book, karma is seen as tiny bits of matter. These bits stick to the soul. They can change where a soul is born.

To help the soul, people follow five vows. These include being kind and not stealing. People also try to shed their karma. They do this through things like fasting or being calm. One famous idea from the book is about helping others. It says that souls should serve one another. This book is used by many different groups of Jains. It remains a key text for their faith today.
