Many books are linked to this name. These sixteen texts are very important to the Digambara tradition. Some books are called "The Essence." One is the Samayasāra, which means "The Essence of the Self." Some scholars wonder if one person wrote all these books. They think many writers may have added parts over many years.

These books teach about the soul. One big idea is the two perspectives of truth. The first is the mundane perspective. This is how we see the normal world. In this view, things change and pass away. The second is the ultimate perspective. This is the view of the pure soul. This soul is blissful and full of power.

This way of thinking has helped many people. It focuses on gaining deep knowledge to find freedom. These ideas inspired many thinkers later on. One was Shrimad Rajchandra. His teachings helped start new groups of followers. Even today, these old books guide many people in their faith.
