People do not dance in studios. They dance in open spaces. They use streets and parks. They dance at block parties and in clubs. This kind of dance is often social. This means dancers move with each other. They also dance near people who watch. Many styles are improvisational. This means dancers make up moves as they go. Street dance gives young people a voice.
