First, players bid in an auction. Bidding helps pick the declarer. The declarer is the person who tries to win the round. They get to pick up the Skat cards. They can also choose the trump suit. A trump suit is a special group of cards that are very strong. To win, the declarer needs 61 points. The other two players work as a team to stop them. There are different ways to play, such as suit, grand, or null games. Each way has its own rules for scoring.
