Giggs' journey began with a significant move from Cardiff to Manchester. He was born in Cardiff to Danny Wilson and Lynne Giggs. His father was a professional rugby union and rugby league player. When Giggs was six, his father joined Swinton RLFC. This forced the family to move to Salford in Greater Manchester. Although the move was difficult, Giggs began playing for local teams like Deans FC. A scout named Dennis Schofield recommended him to Manchester City. However, Manchester United eventually secured his talents. On his 14th birthday in 1987, manager Alex Ferguson offered him a place at the club.
