It helps people practice so they are ready. This can be for music, dance, or plays.

Groups can be small or very large. A small group might have just two people. A large group could have over 100 people.

Some groups have a leader. A director leads a play. A conductor leads an orchestra.

There are many types of rehearsals. A run-through helps actors learn their lines. A "cue to cue" helps the light and sound teams.

This helps them know when to start.

A dress rehearsal is very important. It is the final practice before the show. In a play, actors wear their real costumes. They use props and sets too. In music, groups play the whole piece from start to finish. Some groups even have a small audience at a dress rehearsal. This is called an "open dress." This way, everyone is ready for the big day.
