He was known for being very dedicated to his craft. To Muni, acting was more than just a job. It was an obsession that required intense preparation. He would study the real people he played in his roles. He read many books in the library to learn about them. He even studied their physical movements and ways of speaking. This hard work helped him become one of the most respected actors of his time.

One of Muni's special talents was his skill with makeup.

He learned this from his parents, who were also actors. He used makeup to transform his appearance completely. Some people even called him "the new Lon Chaney" because of this. He could change his face to look like many different people. For example, at only 12 years old, he played an 80-year-old man on stage. This skill allowed him to play many different characters throughout his long career.

Muni's journey began in a place called Lemberg. This was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1895. His birth name was Frederich Meier Weisenfreund. His family spoke Yiddish as their first language. When he was seven, his family moved to Chicago in the United States.

He was nominated for an Oscar five different times. He also appeared in 22 different films. Some of his famous movies included *Scarface* and *The Life of Emile Zola*. These roles showed how much he could change his voice and face.

Muni's life shows how much work goes into being a great performer. He was a very shy man in his private life. He loved taking walks in Central Park with his wife, Bella. Even when he was a big star, he preferred quiet moments. He often spent his time reading or playing the violin. He lived in California toward the end of his life. He died in 1967 at the age of 71. His legacy lives on through the many characters he brought to life.
