Naver is a huge online platform from South Korea. It is run by the Naver Corporation. The name comes from the word "navigate." It also uses the suffix "-er." This means a person who travels through the vast ocean of information on the internet.

Naver provides many different tools for people to use every day. These include a search engine, email, maps, and mobile payments. It also hosts blogs and large online communities.

Many of these services work by letting people share information. For example, the Knowledge iN service lets users ask questions. Other users then provide the answers. Users can even give points to people who give the best answers.

This way of sharing content is called user-generated content. Naver Webtoon is another way people share. It is a platform where professional artists create digital comics. Amateurs can also use a section called "Challenge" to show their work.

Naver has a long history of making new things. The company was founded on 2 June 1999. It is based in Seongnam, South Korea. Naver was the first Korean web provider to build its own search engine.

In August 2000, it launched a "comprehensive search" service. This allowed users to see many results on one single page. In 2002, it launched the Knowledge iN service. This was three years before Yahoo! launched its own version called Yahoo! Answers.

There are many interesting facts about Naver's many tools. The Naver Dictionary supports 67 different languages. Naver Blog started in June 2003 under the name "paper." In 2011, the company launched a messaging app called Line.

Naver Pay is the most used mobile payment service in South Korea. For children, there is a special site called Junior Naver. It offers educational content and quizzes. Experts check this site to keep the internet safe for kids.

Naver connects to many things you might already use. If you use a phone to pay for things, you might use a service like Naver Pay. If you read digital comics, you are using a style of reading seen in Naver Webtoon.

The platform even uses AI, or artificial intelligence, to help people. Their translator, Papago, uses a large neural network to understand context. This helps it translate 15 different languages. Naver shows how much the internet can do for people every day.
