Long ago, the city of Vienna was a big center for music. Many famous people lived there. They wrote classical music. These names include Mozart and Beethoven. One group, the Vienna Philharmonic, plays for people all over the world. They even hold a big concert every New Year's Day.

In the mountains, people use a special way of singing. This is called yodeling. It uses fast changes in the voice. People in Austria also enjoy electronic music. This is music made with machines. Many artists make these sounds today.

Pop music is also very big. A singer named Falco was very famous in the 1980s. His song "Rock Me Amadeus" was number one in the US. Austria also does well in the Eurovision Song Contest. Conchita Wurst won that contest in 2014. In 2025, a singer named JJ won again. Music is a big part of life in Austria. It brings many different people together through song.
