Li He was a very hard worker. He went on trips during the day. When a good idea came to him, he wrote it down. He kept these notes in a small bag. He would finish his poems when he got home at night.

His poems were very unique. They often talked about magic and ghosts. Because of this, people gave him special names. Some called him the "Poet Ghost." Others called him "Guicai," which means "devilish talent."

Li He did not have an easy life. He was often sick and died very young. He was only 26 or 27 years old. He also could not take a big government test. This was because of a naming rule. A name in his family was too similar to the test name.

Many people liked his style for a long time. Many writers tried to copy his work. Even though tastes changed, people still study him today. He is a very important part of Chinese history.
