Wang Bo was a famous poet in China. He lived during the Tang dynasty. He was part of a group called the Four Paragons. This group included three other great writers.

Wang Bo was very smart from a young age. He wrote poems when he was six. By age ten, he had finished reading the Classics. He believed that poetry should express a person's mind. He did not want poems to be just pretty. He wanted them to show real feelings. This was a new way to write.

He wrote a famous piece called "Tengwangge Xu." It is a prose work about a pavilion. Students in China still study it in school. He also wrote many "Fu." A Fu is a special kind of rhythmic writing. His work helped change how people wrote in the Tang era.

Wang Bo had a hard life. He had trouble with leaders in the government. He also killed a servant named Cao Da. This mistake ended his career in politics. He died at age 26. Some say he drowned while traveling on a boat.
