Some frogs have long, thin toes.

These frogs belong to a group called Leptodactylidae. That name means "slender toes" in Greek. They live in many warm lands. You can find them in Mexico. They live in the Caribbean too. Many live in Central and South America.

These frogs live in many places. Some live in trees. Others live in water. Some frogs hide in the dirt by burrowing.

Some frogs make foam nests for their eggs. They put foam in cracks. They may put it on water or the forest floor. These nests are very different from each other.

When eggs hatch on the ground, the tadpoles stay in the nest. Tadpoles are baby frogs. They do not eat while they are in the nest. They stay there until metamorphosis. This is the way they change into adult frogs. There are 206 species in this group. Fossils of these frogs were even found in India.
