It sits in the Pasco Region. This park is part of the Meseta of Bombón. The air there is cold and dry.

The park is famous for its rock forest. We call this the Bosque de Rocas. These rocks look like a forest made of stone. Long ago, volcanoes made the land. They left behind layers of volcanic ash. This ash turned into a rock called ignimbrite. This rock has many tiny holes in it.

About 20,000 years ago, the world had an ice age. Snow and ice changed the rocks. The snow melted into cracks in the stone. Then the water froze again. This made the cracks grow bigger. Soon, parts of the rock crumbled away. This left the strange shapes we see today.

Many people visit this place. Some people go for hiking. Others go to see the views. Rock climbers also come from all over the world. It is a very special place to visit.
