Hummingbirds love to visit these flowers. Moths also visit them at night. Some plants have a very strong smell. People grow them in gardens for their color and scent. They can even cover up old walls.

Honeysuckle plants make berries. These berries can be red, blue, or black. Most berries are mildly poisonous. But a few kinds are safe to eat. One kind is called blue-berried honeysuckle. People grow it to eat at home.

Some honeysuckles can be a problem. The Japanese honeysuckle is an invasive species. This means it spreads too fast in new places. It can grow in North America and Europe. It can also grow in Australia and Africa. It can crowd out other plants. Some people use honeysuckle to scent tea. This is done in a way similar to jasmine tea.
